I ask for a little help
For a penny
Or even a grain of rice
The answer could be a promising Yes,
Or a denying No.
I wish a Yes, a big one, could push itself out of your mouth
This would make my heart pound joyfully
In a rhythm that is more musical
However, a No would crush my soul
It would break the threads that hold my heart together
Maybe, it could even be a disappointment to my high hopes
But then again, you wouldnt know
I would accept it gracefully.
Out of all this, I know one thing for sure…
Had I not asked, I wouldn’t have known.
